BSNL AUAB (All Unions and Associations of BSNL) talks with CMD and Director HR talks failed on 15.02.2019, and AUAB representatives told the BSNL Corporate Management that they are prepared to accept 3rd Pay Revision with 5 % fitment, as offered earlier by the Department of Telecom., and however, AUAB leaders demands for the commitment in writing by the DoT, so that the AUAB can consider deferment of the strike. Even this demand of the AUAB was not accepted. Further, the Department Of Telecommunications has also diluted its earlier assurance to give DA neutralisation, where the Department of Telecom is demanding AUAB should call off the strike, in view of the terror attack in Pulwama, and the Secretary, Telecom, has put a condition that she would not meet the AUAB leaders unless they call off the strike, In this pathetic situation, BSNL AUAB leaders met immediately after the meeting with the BSNL Management, all the General Secretaries of the AUAB decided to go ahead with the strike, and in the backdrop of the terror attack, AUAB decided to exempt Jammu Kashmir circle from the strike to ensure maintenance of telecom services and requests all the Circle and District Unions leaders and members to organize the strike powerfully to reach their voice of employees to DoT, MoC and PM.

Chairman and Managing Director BSNL and Director (HR) were holding discussions with the AUAB during the last two days, and they were conveying the proposal given by the Department of Telecom with regards to 3rd Pay Revision and Accordingly, the Pay Revision will be done immediately with 0% fitment, and thereafter, the Hon’ble Minister will take up with the Cabinet for granting 5% fitment
The AUAB had discussion among the General Secretaries and has unanimously decided that 10% fitment should be our minimum demand, and this has been communicated to the DoT through the CMD of BSNL.

All the Central Trade unions are extended their support to three days nation wide strike of employees of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited against various issues (wage revision of workforce, Allotment of 4G Spectrum).

During the discussions in meeting held on 30.01.2019 with D.O.T Additional Secretary, the AUAB leaders were offered the 3rd pay revision for BSNL employees at 5% fitment, if the AUAB accepted the DOT proposal, the issue will be placed for approval of Digital Commission (erstwhile Telecom Commission) to be held on 05.02.2019 and then to Cabinet.
